Speaker, Investor and Mental Health Advocate

Jan Gerber

My work lives at the crossroads of wealth, health, and entrepreneurship.

As founder and CEO of the world’s most comprehensive treatment centre, I’ve witnessed how wealth undermines our well-being. My work is about creating spaces where these truths can be faced and from that honesty, new paths toward healing can emerge.

why i do what i do

my ethos

Whether I’m building treatment programmes, speaking with leaders, or sitting across from someone in pain, I return to one question: what does it really mean to be well, and how do we support that truthfully, ethically, and humanely?

The People Behind the Success

The very traits that enable founders and leaders to create (think intensity, relentless focus, and visionary drive) often arise mental health challenges. In fact, these traits are not merely risk factors; they are the same energies that fuel extraordinary achievement.

I speak frequently on this topic, drawing on both my own experiences and the work we do with clients at Paracelsus Recovery. Not as a cautionary tale, but as a way to illuminate the human experience behind ambition.

Psychedelic Psychotherapy

I am a strong supporter of psychedelic psychotherapy, particularly when it is delivered with care and guidance. At Paracelsus Recovery, we provide this work, including ketamine-assisted therapy, as part of a broader approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing.

I speak regularly on this topic, sharing both my own experience and the insights we’ve gained through the clients we work with.

However, it's crucial to note, as always, psychedelic therapy is not a shortcut or a cure-all. It is a tool to help people explore their inner lives, uncover unconscious patterns, and engage with their emotions and memories. But it is, undoubtedly, a powerful tool.

Harm Reduction & Humanistic Pragmatism

Humanistic Pragmatism is at the heart of everything I share on stage. It’s the belief that no matter what someone has done or who they’ve hurt, there is no such thing as a bad person, only a person responding with the tools life has given them. This perspective underpins my work in harm reduction, where I focus on understanding behaviour rather than judging it.

At Paracelsus Recovery, we meet people where they are and create pathways for change that respect their humanity. I speak regularly about moving beyond blame, exploring how compassion and insight can replace shame and judgment.

My approach is not abstract theory, nor is it about quick fixes. It is rooted in the simple, science-backed truth that understanding ourselves makes us better leaders, partners, and decision-makers, because it enables us to forgive ourselves.

There is No Longevity Without Mental Health

There is no point in living longer if you are miserable. And the truth is, untreated mental health issues are lethal; they shorten life, undermine wellbeing, and steal vitality. I speak regularly about how true longevity is inseparable from mental health, and how taking care of the mind is just as essential as taking care of the body.
